Tree is part of a live performance where the sculpture and performers bodies become inter-twined with one another. The sculpture responds to a fallen, uprooted tree. Tree explores empathy as the performer carefully uses their body to connect with the form; lifting it up and carrying it whilst navigating the space with no vision and with a new extended body. The artwork responds to climate grief and empathy with our natural world. Performed with live electronics on the clarinet by Heather Ryall with collected live field sounds from the natural environment.
