The Past Unravels commission
Commissioned by Jersey Heritage to create ten site specific installations within the Merchant's House in Jersey Museum. An immersive exhibition of installations, sound and film, telling the history of the building and the Ginestet family that once lived in this then unfashionable part of town. Each rooms gives an interpretation of each family member, unveiling a story and insight into their lives and thoughts. Karen worked with writer Vicky Hinault who was commissioned to create a poetic response to each room. Jonathan Carter, Director of Jersey Heritage commented: Karen’s work is inspired and inspiring. One of our key aims at Jersey Heritage is to bring alive the Island’s history and culture to enable people to make sense of the past and interpret the present. This exhibition is a wonderfully visual way of achieving that aim.
